Finished blanket! :D

I spent hours today crocheting and at 5.25 pm I was done! 😀 With a kind of empty feeling… I was like “Ok, I’ve spent countless hours the last few months crocheting this blanket. Now what am I going to do next?” But I am still happy. 🙂

So, before…

… and after:

It’s 118 x 135 cm. Almost square, but not quite. I actually thought it would be a little longer, but that’s because I misunderstood how the hexagons were pieced together. It’s still large enough. And it will keep me warm during the cold winter evenings.

I don’t know exactly when I started crocheting, but I think it was in the middle of August. So it took two months, give or take a few days.

Here are a few close ups:

As always, click on the images to make them larger. I stitched it together so that a hexagon shape was created around each flower:

It’s far from perfect. But as I have written earlier, it doesn’t have to be as long as you enjoy the process of making it.

Well, that’s the end of this project… Let’s see what I’ll be doing next. I am not sure.

  1. It’s beautiful and a tremendous amount of work! I completely agree that it’s more about the process than the result. But when you are happy with what you see in the end, it makes it that much better.

  2. Reblogged this on NeuroBead and commented:
I used to crochet during my childhood and teenage years and really miss it now. It is a heartwarming process that can produce beautiful results! Now that my older daughter is approaching the age at which I could teach her to crochet, maybe we will revisit it together.
