Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! We don’t usually celebrate it here in Finland, but I guess more people start to celebrate it, especially younger generations. Kids love to dress up and have a plastic skeleton hanging somewhere, or eat spooky food. But so far, no trick or treat (at least I have never heard of that here).

I’m having trouble with the picture when writing on the phone, so I will put it last.

A few years ago I had a Jack-o-lantern pumpkin carved out. But not since then. Tonight I did want to do a little Halloween craft.

I made a pumpkin corner bookmark and a little origami ghost. 🙂 Instructions on the YouTube channel Red Ted Art. Search for the playlist about Halloween crafts.

I love watching R.T.A. videos, but I have never actually tried making any crafts until today.

It was quite easy making the corner bookmark, except for drawing a mouth and eyes! I am not a good drawer at all! But I got it okay.

The ghost was quite easy as well. The crafts on R.T.A. are designed so kids can try making most of them (maybe with the help of an adult).

You really should check out Red Ted Art on YouTube!

I will for sure make more of Maggie’s crafts in the future. 😀

So, again, if you celebrate, Happy Halloween!

My first Jack-O-Lantern! :D

Today I carved my first pumpkin! 😀 It was difficult! Click on the images to make them larger.

The Jack-O-Lantern first had two teeth, but one was accidentally lost when I carved some more… Oh, well, at least he has one tooth. 🙂

It’s just a small pumpkin on a little plate. I now have a little candle inside it. It looks nice where it burns. I have taken off the lid.

And here are some bookmarks I made today:

I don’t know how well you can see some of the bookmarks. The stickers, which mum got from Sweden, shimmers. There’s ghosts and pumpkins, a few bats and a few candy corns and stars.

I like to make photo copies of different small templates and use them for bookmarks etc. For the horizontal bookmark I used such templates (in orange). I put a piece of yellow paper behind to make it look like they are burning. The eyes I just cut out free hand.

I always cover the bookmarks with book plastic so they will last longer.

I have lots of bookmarks. Last time I counted them they were 1178 bookmarks, but that was quite some time ago. I think now it is probably 1250, or more, or less… I will count them later this week.
